Amelia Morris was born and raised in a "transitional neighborhood" near downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. She spent the greater part of her schooling in the public school system's magnet option Montessori and Gardner Theory schools, where she developed a love for the arts and especially photography. She credits her strong work ethic to four years of hard labor working to keep afloat in a highly competitive Catholic high school. College felt like an enormous relief as she could finally focus on the creative work that most interested her. She misses the long hours spent in the darkroom, and the smell of photo chemistry is strangely comforting.

Amelia currently resides not far from where she grew up. Now on her "sabbatical," she flirts with the idea of graduate school, works about five part-time jobs, and tries to keep the peace between her two cats. She also takes a photo or two.
